Pay Your Race Entry with Venmo: Quick, Familiar, and Cheaper Than a Card
If your phone has the blue V icon on the home screen, you already know how to register for the Malad Valley Marathon. Venmo is now a native checkout option for any distance.
Why Venmo
Two reasons. First, a lot of runners already split rideshares, brunch tabs, and training-group trip costs on Venmo. Keeping the race in the same flow is just less friction. Second, Venmo balances and bank-funded payments cost us less than credit cards, so we can pass through the savings as a clean checkout.
How to register with Venmo
- Pick your distance.
- Choose Venmo at the payment step.
- The Venmo app opens on your phone with the amount pre-filled and our merchant handle as the recipient.
- Authorize the payment.
- You bounce back to the checkout confirmation screen. Email receipt with your bib number arrives within the minute.
Works the same on desktop: scan the QR with your phone, approve, done.
Pair it with the other discounts
Venmo payment stacks with the skip-shirt $10 discount and the open RUNTHEVALLEY coupon for $5 off. The crypto discount only applies to crypto, so if you want the maximum savings, crypto is the cheapest route. See our affordability post for the full math.
Splitting a team registration
Registering a relay-style group or family bundle? Venmo is the easiest way to handle the split. One person registers everyone, the rest of the group Venmos them their share, done. No need for everyone to enter their card.
